Landscape Design - Landscape Construction - Landscape Repair - Landscaping Company
Landscape Architecture involves an aesthetically pleasing balance of Hardscape, Softscape & Outdoor Carpentry elements. This requires proven planning skills, experienced construction techniques & of course an innate artistic talent. We always respect your own desires & taste, it is your property.
Hardscape Construction
Hardscape consists of the inanimate elements of your landscape architecture, especially any masonry work. Landscaping with stone: Garden Edging, Garden Accents, Driveway Borders & all Stone Landscape Construction. Stone walls, concrete or brick patios, flagstone pathways, wooden decks & wooden arbors.
Softscape Construction
Softscape comprises the animate, horticultural elements of your landscape architecture: trees, shrubs, decorative plants & ground cover. Softscape also encompasses sculpting the surface grade of your property, this is called swale. Softscape elements are complemented by landscaping with stone.
Landscape projects are divided into these twelve basic steps but are not always necessary for every landscape installation. By taking each step into account when planning your landscape project, you will avoid wasted time & extra expense. Planning & scheduling is the key to any successful landscape installation.
- Clear the site: Remove all unwanted existing elements from your work area. Keep only the features you want included into your new landscape design.
- Establish the site rough grade: Site grading & contour changes for proper lot drainage are established for your new landscape plan.
- Install Drainage System: Excavate all trenches for underground drain pipes and irrigation systems. Install any conduit and wiring for any outdoor lighting.
- Install Sprinkler System: Install all irrigation lines and wiring. Backfill & compact all under grade lines and re-establish your rough grade.
- Soil Amendments: Improve the existing soil for lawn and garden areas. Cedar Creek Contracting has a commitment to environmentally friendly ways of dealing with soil fertility.
- Hardscape Construction: Build & install all your wood, concrete & masonry elements as per your design. Install all decks, fencing and gates, retaining walls & walkways.
- Garden Boarders: Install any garden edging as set out in your design.
- Final Grading: Establish all lot contours & grading swale. Swales are shallow grassed drainage channels with gently sloping sides. These collect & direct storm water away from your home's foundation.
- Large Planting: Prepare all large plant areas & install planting as outlined in your landscape plan.
- Garden Planting & Lawn Installation: Place all new planting in desired garden areas. Add mulch to all gardens if part of plan design. Install all lawn areas. Make sure all new plants and lawn areas get well watered.
- Final Site Clean-Up: Site clean up should be undertaken daily during the construction process. The final clean up of all your new landscape elements gives the landscape a professional finish.
- Maintain New Planting: All new planting most be cared for until the plants roots are well established.
This all starts with an on site meeting where we will listen to your requests, analyze existing site conditions & determine project scope of work. Depending primarily on the scale of the project, a design-estimate fee may be quoted at that time. The design-estimate will include landscape drawing(s) & cost estimates. If we proceed with the construction, the design–estimate fee will be deducted from the total cost of the project.
